Curriculum Vitae.    (Translated into English by realenglish4you)

24.02.1947. My life did not start easily as I almost got strangled by the umbilical cord. My father had to quarrel with the midwife to save me, as I was not born in a hospital, but at home. My would-be godmother did not have time to come for my Christening, so I had a ”stand-in” godmother. It is said that I was not willing to speak until 3 years of age, after that I could not stop talking.
My logic was far advanced already then, I doubted a god's existence. I did not find the „tale” of the world's creation logical, which the adults were not able to present to me sensibly. My mother did not work, she was with us all the time, since my father was at work steadily. I have two sisters, I am the middle child. When not at work, my father was always working around the house. He had exceptional  physical endurance. We always had  domestic animals until I was 10 : Hens, pigs, dogs, cats. Of those with big bodies, there were several horses and cows in the stable at a time. I was hardly as tall as reaching the stomach of a horse, yet I tested how it felt to ride one. Of course without a saddle and  parental supervision... I led it to the foundation of a new house under construction, and then first onto it, then from there onto the horse ' back.
As far as I remember, there was so much snow in winter in those days ( remaining for a long time ) that I was not visible from behind it. It was necessary to dig a tunnel for ourselves many times so that we could get out of the house

I was writing about Rónafő up until now here, since we moved into Moson only in the fifth form. I got used to it and got to like this little town very quickly, I believed I would live there all my life. The first love found me here, which was impersonated by a girl two years younger than me and living two houses away from ours. Since we moved from here, I have never met her again. In the picture on the right you can see my favourite form teacher: Zoltán Arató.

I am  not writing the name of our next residential town (village) down as I hated it so much. I will never forgive my parents this move . Their selfish behaviour influenced my whole life afterwards and not in a good way. To make things  worse - the ”cream on the cake ” - I was one of the 43 students in the eighth form out of whom only 12 people were let go to high school, while I was put into a vocational school for a footman, much as I was the most brilliant student of the class,  which I had attended only for six months. At mathematics, physics, chemistry, Hungarian grammar, Russian, etc. there was not a single child roughly as good a student as I was. I have had an employment card since 14 years of age. ( This came handy later on when calculating my pension for the length of time spent in service. ) I had to get up at 3 30 a.m. daily to go to Győr by train for school.

I became a motor mechanic, and I got the professional driving licence in 1967. I joined the Hungarian Army to serve as a soldier, where I hated to be very much. I had got to know my present wife by that time, and I courted her seriously. We corresponded daily while I was a soldier, and because of this I was called and mocked as „Amorous Németh” in the army, but I did not care. However, it  rather annoyed me that my envious mates were constantly hiding my letters so that I had to look for them.

I got married in 1970, and I moved into Győr permanently. In the beginning we lived in digs, our first child was born there, and I started continuing my studies. I graduated from high school as a correspondent student. We managed to collect enough money in one and a half years' of saving up hard to be able to pay the deposit for our first own flat. We bought a 2 - bedroom flat in Ifjúság körút. We were very happy, we did not bother that the other bedroom stayed empty for 2 more years. Our second daughter was born one and a half years after the firstborn. They have grown up since then apparently, both of them are mothers of two and teachers ( the elder one is also a translator ).

In my career I was very fortunate when my workplace supported and gave me the opportunity to go to university as a day-student. I resided in a dormitory in the castle of Buda, apparently isolated from my immediate family, but I went home twice a week. My wife had to look after our two kids  alone because I stayed at home for more  than one day only at weekends .We bought our first automobile (Wartburg) in 1978, we had been waiting  for it for 3 years after paying the deposit. I exchanged this for a VW Golf, then for an Opel later on. We have our fourth car now, it is the best so far, reliable and does not eat a lot of petrol.

My manual work ended after having finished university, after that I started as a white collar worker. I was a product developer first, then maintenance engineer. It was rather difficult for me to reach the stage of being an acknowledged employee , which I had already done before as a motor mechanic.

My first camera was a 6x6 film - using  machine, the name of which I do not remember anymore, and now I try to investigate about it on the internet in vain. It was short-lived, I made use of its objective when I built an enlarger for my own lab compiled by me. Right after that came a Szmena 8 (СМЕНА 8), but I have written about this topic in greater detail under My Cameras.

I disliked the computer initially, but a friend of mine talked about it so enthusiastically showing some interesting things that I became interested. My first own computer was a Commodore 64, which we brought in from Austria, then six months later my Plus 4 - ordered earlier - arrived. I kept the latter one after a lengthy struggle, and although Plus 4 is a more-developed machine, C 64 proved to be unbeatable both in games and popularity. My nostalgic feelings for C 64 drove me into buying a C 128, which again I brought from Austria. It had a C 64 working mode as well. You could run an operational system from a floppy disc, which was known as CP/M. ( The immediate fore-runner for DOS ) It was possible to run a dBase database managing programme too!
I met my first PC at my workplace  in 1986. At that  time I was asked if I wanted to work in IT environment, I said : yes, naturally. This defined the line of my coming jobs. I was sent to university again by my company, this time for an information technology systems organizer. I was active in this position until my retirement. I have never become addicted to my PC, the internet, and I have been operating a website for only a year now. Everybody can use a  computer in my family ( we have had a PC since 2002 ), and today the
speed of our internet is  1000 MB/sec.

In 1990, after our daughters, a son was born to me at last, currently he is the all-time favourite in „Cyberspace”- Computer Science. I became  a grandfather in 1998, now I am that fourfold already. I have never pursued any sports, but I like riding a bicycle, I have a darts set and my newest acquisition is a pool table. About this playful sport I have posted a video onto the Web. ( YouTube, Videa )

Web page is in operation since 2008, but statistics of the visitors' attendance  I started saving up only in 2010. Map zoomed in you can see the details of the settlement.
